Momestanengo is Guatemala's famous for its heavy woolen indian blankets woven on large foot looms. Sheep and goats raised in the hills provide the raw material. Hot springs in the area are used for washing the finished blankets.

Momo is also known for still using the mayan calendar and traditional rites. Colorful diablo dances are held in the plaza a few times a year, on christmas eve and new years eve.

 
         

Los Riscos (Crags) are a strange geological formation just outside of town. The Riscos are a et of pillars and shallow caves formed in volcanic ash.

Laguna Chicabal is a magical lake set in the crater of Chicabal Volcano (2712m). The lake is an intensely cared place to the mayans. Mayan priests come from all over the country to make offerings.
